Gender Design Award iphiGenia

Design shapes the world. Therefore it is necessary to bring gender awareness to the design process, to avoid both gender blindness and gender stereotypes. Every year, the iphiGenia Gender Design Award honors the world’s best gender sensitive designs. 

We celebrate design with impact – join in and celebrate with us! The renowned international Gender Design Award iphiGenia is being presented for the sixth time. Since 2017, iGDN e.V. has been honoring designers and companies who challenge stereotypes and drive social change with their gender-sensitive and future-oriented designs. Meet the 2025 award winners, the jury, and other experts from Brazil, France, Colombia, the Netherlands, and Germany at the award ceremony at the Museum of Applied Arts in Cologne.

Categories

With the Gender Design Award iphiGenia, we reward excellent design examples for their gendersensive qualities. They shall inspire and be followed by many more intelligent designs in the spirit of the Award. Awarded by the international Gender Design Network/iGDN, this unique prize is beeing presented in three categories:
Evolution
The iphiGenia Gender Design Award Evolution is given to established or young companies, agencies or other initiatives that explicitly support the cause of gender-sensitive design and whose work unites an all-embracing, convincing approach to this issue with excellence in design and execution.
Revolution
The iphiGenia Gender Design Award Revolution recognises an individual product (including campaigns, communication design, digital designs, services etc.) showing a credible and innovative fusion of gender-sensitivity and intelligent design.
Volition
The award for young design talents, iphiGenia Gender Design Award Volition (will, power of willing). With this prize, the jury responds to the large number of committed student projects that were entered to the iphiGenia Gender Design Awards.
